Jackets For Jesus leaves for the heart of Los Angeles every Sunday night at 8pm from Central Community. Our cooking team is in the kitchen at the church by 3pm and they welcome help and food donations.
The Jackets for Jesus van carries 15 people. We run out of space in the van most nights and we’re ready for a second van to be donated! You’re always invited to drive your own car and meet up with the team.
Alternative meeting point– McDonald’s just off Peck Rd exit and the 60 fwy (1185 Durfee Ave., South El Monte, CA, google map at link) – has welcomed us warmly for over 20 years. We leave in a caravan from McDonald’s to the streets at 9:30pm. The team from Riverside arrives in the van at approximately 9pm – again, you’ll be welcome in the van as long as a seats open.
Once a month or once a year– You’re Invited! Each of us started with our first week. None of us imagined it would become part of our lives. One Sunday night can change everything for you and for the lives of countless people living in urban poverty.
If you’re unable to join us on the streets but would like to donate jackets, food or financial support – we welcome all 3 with open arms.
